Parliament is the national legislature of the Indian Union.It is a bicameral legislature and consists of the President, the Rajya Sabha (the upper house) and the Lok sabha (the lower house) . In matter of legistation, both Houses have co-equal powers except in the case of Money Bills with respect to which the Lok Sabha reigns supreme. The President is an integral part of Parliament and all Bills passed by it must receive his assent before becoming laws. The President summons and prorogues the Parliament and Dissolves the Lok Sabha.
